Super Bowl LX features the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots. Although the teams are the same from what feels like just a few years ago, everything has changed--- players, coaches and culture has all changed since their last Super Bowl meeting (2015).

Meet The Teams:

Seahawks Defense

The Seattle Seahawks enter this Super Bowl as the best defense in the NFL. They rank number one in expected points added (EPA) and points allowed per game (17.2). During the past season the NFL average points per game was 23 with the highest scoring team being the Rams (30.5)--which are in the same division with Seattle.

All of this statistical jargon is nice, but what does it mean in reference to the game being played on Sunday?

They are hungry and mean. The Seahawks hit you like a brick upon your head that has been dropped from five stories above. Earnest Jones IV(LB), Devon Witherspoon(CB), Drake Thomas (LB) and Coby White (S) are just a few of the names to embed in your memory before they come crashing through your screen on Sunday.

Simply put, this team defensivly has very little holes and may not have any weakness. Their best two-game stretch as a unit this season came against the Vikings and Falcons. Although each team has dynamic weapons, it was their young signal callers in McCarthy and Penix Jr. that couldn't see the openings on the field.

Will Drake Maye be able to dictate his style to this defense or will he get smoked like the above mentioned quarterbacks in his same draft class (2024)?

Seahawks Offense

As for the offense, they feature a journeyman at the quarterback position in Sam Darnold. His time as a New York Jet was terrible, and Carolina was better-- but not by much. Since then he's been a backup in San Francisco and finally a second chance to start in Minnesota.

Although Darnold had a nice season in Minnesota, his time as a Viking ended after one season which landed him in Seattle.

His Weapons in Seattle Include:

Walker's season of 1,027 rushing-yards and five touchdowns aren't statistics that will blow you away. However, he's had four touchdowns in the 2026 playoffs and his bull in a china shop style of running wears on a defense.

Cooper Kupp (WR), AJ Barner (TE) and Rashid Rasheed (WR)

This three headed combo offers different skills for the Patriots defense to consider:

Kupp defines his routes perfectly and gives Darnold a nice safety blanket while attacking zone coverage.

Barner is a sure-handed receiver at the tight-end position. His ability to execute a reception in tight windows allows Darnold to take more chances.

Rasheed is a burner that stretches the field much like Tyreek Hill can. despite being limited in his route tree, burning cornerbacks and pressuring safety's puts a ton of pressure on opposing defenses.

Patriots Defense

The New England Patriots come into Super Bowl LX as five point underdogs, despite fielding a lot of talent. Their defense is ranked fourth in points allowed per game and since the playoffs began they are best in yards allowed per game (209.7).

They are led by their lock-down Pro Bowl cornerback Christian Gonzalez. This season he's held quarterbacks to 53.6 completion percentage when attempting to throw on his side of the field.

  • One of Seattle's keys to victory will be to keep the ball away from Gonzalez and move Smith-Njigba into better positions on the field.

Outside of Gonzalez this defense performs well together much like some of their head coach Mike Vrabel's teams. They gang tackle for the gang and don't make any big mistakes. Craig Woodson (S), K'Lavon Chaisson (LB) and Jack Gibbens (LB) are some of the heavy hitters to be watching for on Sunday.

Patriots Offense

Unlike every Super Bowl of recent memory this Patriot team is not being led by Tom Brady--- but he needed a mention. It's Drake Maye's team now and in just his second year out of North Carolina he finds himself in the Super Bowl.

Can he Handle it?

Will the Seattle defense rattle him?

These are two major questions heading into Super Bowl 60. Nevertheless, he did a fine job proving himself against a nasty Houston Texan defense and even passed the test against Denver in Mile High.

Drake Maye prepares himself to fire a pass.
Drake Maye prepares to make a decisive play on the field, exuding intensity and determination.

What we do know is Maye has a talented backfield tandem in Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson. During the regular season these backs combined for 16 total touchdowns and countless big plays.

Each plays a particular role in Josh McDaniels offensive scheme, but together they must keep Seattle honest in order for Maye to operate with efficiency.

Patriots teams have traditionally favored their tight end position dating back to Gronkowski. Although Hunter Henry could grab a touchdown, his impact will be limited with how Seattle plays and his ability to take hits.

Enter Stefon Diggs!

Stefon Diggs is the exact mouthpiece a young and inexperienced quarterback such as Maye needs in this moment. After his ACL injury suffered last season, he's bounced back with 85 receptions and 1013 yards-receiving. His blemish of only four touchdowns is low because of the highly focused team concept in New England.

Kayshon boutte, DeMario Douglas and Mack Hollins will have some impact during parts of this game. But the tone needs to be set with Drake Maye and Stefon Diggs.

Super Bowl 60 Prediction

Both of these teams showcase tremendous talent on each side of the ball. If Drake Maye can live for each play and not let the moment engulf his play then the Patriots can upset the Seahawks.

As for Sam Darnold, he's seen a ton of football at this point in his career. Every system that he's been in from New York to San Francisco can help him attack this Patriots team.

I'll take the Seahawks to win and bet them on the moneyline (-230)

Final Score: Seattle 24 New England 20
